Ahmad Angawi (b. 1981) is a multidisciplinary artist and educator from Makkah whose practice engages geometry, craftsmanship, and the relationship between heritage and contemporary design. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, New York, and a Master’s degree in Traditional Arts from The Prince Charles School of Traditional Arts, London.

Angawi is the founder of Angawi Studio and Zawiya 97, a cultural platform located in the historic Al-Balad district of Jeddah that supports artists, designers, and craftsmen through exhibitions and educational initiatives. He played a key role in establishing a school of traditional arts in Al-Balad and served as Program Director at the House of Traditional Arts, a collaboration between The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts and Art Jameel.

Drawing on his Meccan roots and the cultural landscape of Hejaz, Angawi explores the concept of balance, or “Al Mizan,” as a guiding principle in his work, bridging traditional craft practices with contemporary production and public space.
