Studio Above&Below is a London-based art and technology practice founded in 2018 by the German-British duo Daria Jelonek (b. 1988) and Perry-James Sugden (b. 1992), both graduates of the Royal College of Art. Their research-based immersive artworks merge Mixed Reality (XR), data, and digital media to explore connections between humans, technology, and the environment. The studio has exhibited at Tate Modern, the Royal Academy of Arts, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London; Sónar+D in Barcelona; the Venice Biennale; and UCCA in Shanghai. They have been commissioned by ATHR and received the STARTS City of the Future Prize and Bloomberg bursaries.
