Drops of Life is a monumental study in contrasts, carved from a solid block of Royal Gold granite. The sculpture’s rough, warm stone surface embodies the ancient, unyielding strength of the Earth. Exploding from this monolith are polished stainless-steel spheres of varying sizes, designed to resemble fresh, revitalizing water droplets. These “drops” appear to dynamically penetrate the surrounding space, creating an illusion of liquid motion frozen in time. The mirror-like finish of the steel reflects the sky, the landscape, and the viewers themselves, physically integrating the audience into the artwork. This interaction serves to remind us that humans are composed largely of water. By juxtaposing the static longevity of granite with the fluid, reflective quality of steel, the artwork underscores the vital importance of water as the primary source of existence and the interdependent relationship between humanity and the natural world.
