Shahryar Hassan Rezaei approaches sculpture as a catalyst for social engagement. With academic roots in the restoration of historical monuments and landscape architecture, he possesses a keen understanding of space and history. His work challenges the static nature of traditional monuments by creating “active urban spaces” that invite people to sit, touch, and interact. Rezaei believes art should be a platform for conversation and living experience, stepping outside formal layers to foster human connection. Over the last two decades, he has participated in symposiums across Iran, Germany, and Norway, and has organized multiple sculpture events. His artistic language is heavily influenced by relational aesthetics and contemporary urban sculpture. He designs his works—such as 361°—to serve as functional, poetic interventions in the city, symbolizing liberation from repetitive cycles and the start of new worlds.
