The Planets Are Watching

Tuwaiq Sculpture

YEAR

2026

The Planets are Watching unfolds as a meditation on responsibility, origin, and ethical becoming. The sculpture is anchored by dense granite cubes, which serve as carriers of geological memory and the earth’s permanence. From this primal base, stainless-steel “branches” ascend like nerves, tracing the pathways of human intention. These conduits support reflective spheres suspended above, which mirror the environment and the viewer, acting as “quiet witnesses” or ethical centers. The artwork suggests that innovation should be an act of alignment rather than separation. By visually binding the grounded stone with the weightless, watchful spheres, the piece proposes a relationship between humanity and the planet rooted in care. It critiques the history of extraction and offers a vision where human imagination serves the land, creating a dialogue between what is given by the earth and what is built by people.
