Swiss collective Encor Studio transforms architecture into pure perception. Founded by Mirko Eremita, David Houncheringer, Manuel Oberholzer, and Valerio Spoletini, the group merges technology with lo-fi materials to reveal light’s poetic and structural presence. Sliced (2025) is a modular, site-responsive installation—a corridor of perforated black textile where thousands of micro-apertures shape beams of light into a living field. As sound and mist drift through, the boundaries of space dissolve; air becomes the medium, and light becomes form.
The work proposes stillness and simplicity as quiet acts of resistance in an overstimulated world. Using minimal energy and natural phenomena such as sunlight and reflection, Sliced offers a sanctuary of perception, a passage between darkness and illumination, isolation and connection, where presence itself becomes renewal.
