REDUKTOR (2025) by Tonoptik distills the invisible energy of the universe into a single, luminous line. Four laser modules converge on a central light column that responds to signals captured by an antenna, including electromagnetic radiation from phones, muons from cosmic rays, and other unseen vibrations surrounding us. The installation translates these forces into sound and motion, reducing the complexity of the cosmos to one dimension of light.
Merging minimalist aesthetics with scientific inquiry, Tonoptik reveals harmony between technology and nature: the vast reduced to the essential, chaos refined into clarity. Inspired by breakthroughs in physics and mathematics, REDUKTOR proposes that simplicity can embody the infinite. The work hums with quiet intensity, reminding us that even the smallest beam of light carries within it the structure of the universe.
