Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki expands his celebrated Liminal Air series in Riyadh, immersing a vast hall with thousands of fine threads that capture light like morning mist. Stirred by air currents, the threads drift in ethereal waves, rendering empty space as a tangible volume. Liminal Air Space-Time (2025) invites visitors to wander slowly, each movement reshaping the field of view, each step unveiling new depths. Ohmaki’s art dwells in the threshold between stillness and flow, presence and evaporation. Here, time transforms into tangible texture and silence materializes into form, creating an architecture woven entirely from ephemeral moments. In this iteration, delicate color transitions trace the passage of day from dawn to twilight. The installation embodies transience, a reminder that space itself is alive, sculpted by breath and time. It is a meditation on the invisible forces that shape our perception and a testament to beauty born of impermanence.
