Light Creatures, 2025

Specifically conceived for Noor Riyadh, Light Creatures (2025) is an experience that gives the impression of a water tower’s interior becoming visible from the outside through a projection. The visual narration, conceived to map the higher part of the tower, unveils the vital potential of light and energy, as a DNA that recurs in technology and in nature. Visitors follow a mesmerizing abstract narration made of biological entities, movement, birth, growth, evolution, transformation, and motion. The work starts with a geometric abstraction of moving images that embody the appearance of a genetic code, and then morphs into patterns and forms that slowly evolve from geometric lines to continuously changing luminous organic forms. Finally, the vital forms transform again until they resemble geometric entities, and return to their original state of DNA, in a cycle which reflects the recurrence of life. The mesmerizing experience reflects recent scientific research on bioluminescence.
