IN FINITY

Tuwaiq Sculpture

YEAR

2026

IN FINITY utilizes the concept of the Klein bottle to explore the themes of infinity and resource regeneration. Crafted from accumulated recycled metal and scrap steel, the sculpture represents a non-orientable surface where “inside” and “outside” are indistinguishable. This mathematical form serves as a metaphor for the water cycle, specifically referencing the Tahlia Street’s history as the site of Riyadh’s first desalination plant. Just as water is recycled and purified, the sculpture transforms discarded industrial materials into a harmonious, dynamic volume. The accumulation of scrap metal creates a raw, graphic texture that contrasts with the fluid continuity of the Klein bottle shape. The work is a dialogue between the past (represented by the waste material) and the future (represented by the infinite loop), emphasizing the necessity of reuse and the endless potential of transformation in both nature and urban development.
