Delivery Dancer’s Sphere, 2022

Delivery Dancer’s Sphere (2022) is grounded in the delivery industry that expanded not only across South Korea but worldwide during the pandemic. Beyond examining the gig economy, labor issues, and questions of efficiency, it also draws viewers into a topological labyrinth of possible worlds, hypervigilance, and an accelerationist urge toward the optimization of body, time, and space.
Seoul becomes a labyrinth of endlessly regenerating routes, where the workers of the Delivery Dancer platform pursue never-ending delivery work. Two female delivery riders, Ernst Mo and En Storm (both anagrams of “Monster”), navigate this platform, constantly receiving delivery calls and infinitely generated delivery paths that function like a maze. Each time Ernst Mo encounters En Storm, a rider identical to herself, she enters an increasingly distorted space-time.
