Wiktor Kopacz’s sculpture is a synthesis of rigorous classical training and a modernist search for essential form. Educated in Minsk, he moved away from strict figurative realism to explore the expressive potential of material itself. His work deconstructs solid volumes into repeated marks or “molecules,” creating a personal visual vocabulary that interrogates time, memory, and spatial experience. While his bronze works retain a connection to the figure, his monumental stone sculptures are largely abstract, influenced by the philosophies of Constantin Brâncuși and Isamu Noguchi, and land art. Kopacz views carving as a process of revealing the “silent inner architecture” of stone. He has an extensive international career, with public works in countries including Saudi Arabia, China, and Canada, often addressing the intersection of human presence and natural cycles.
