Unexpected

Unexpected (2021) by Alessio Ranaldi is a granite sculpture exploring action and reaction through the collision of two forms. A rounded element meets a larger recessed mass, creating tension between containment, impact and transformation. Installed within the King Abdulaziz Historical Center, the work captures an encounter across space and time, suggesting that unexpected outcomes can generate entirely new forms.
